Dr. Roy Rivera, Jr., is a physical therapist, health educator, healthcare entrepreneur, and community leader whose career sits at the intersection of clinical practice, public health, inclusive care, organizational leadership, and LGBTQ+ advocacy.

As Founder and CEO of Elation Physical Therapy, Dr. Roy has spent more than a decade building healthcare environments designed to serve diverse communities with dignity, respect, and clinical excellence. His work has included advancing affirming rehabilitation approaches for LGBTQ+ and transgender patients, developing inclusive healthcare practices, and leading organizations through the practical realities of turning values into systems.

His expertise extends well beyond the clinic. With a Master’s and Doctorate in Physical Therapy, a PhD in Health Studies focused on Community Health, and certification as a Master Certified Health Education Specialist, Dr. Roy brings together clinical expertise, population health, behavior change, education, and organizational leadership.

He also serves as an appointed member of the Harris County LGBTQIA+ Commission, helping advise on issues affecting LGBTQ+ communities across one of the largest counties in the United States. His broader community leadership has included service with LGBTQ+ education, business, and professional organizations, as well as advocacy focused on equitable access, economic opportunity, and inclusive systems.
